This image poses a critical security risk and must not be used in production, especially as an internet-facing service. An attacker could bypass authentication and gain unauthorized access to the GitLab instance, or trigger denial-of-service conditions via crafted requests. CVE-2026-42010 is the most severe, but it only applies if GnuTLS RSA-PSK authentication is enabled; disabling that mode eliminates it. Additional denial-of-service exposure exists via CVE-2026-41989 in libgcrypt.
