An attacker exploiting these issues could cause denial of service or, in some cases, memory corruption potentially leading to code execution if a crafted PKCS#12 file is processed. Many of the OpenSSL-related CVEs (e.g., CVE-2025-11187) require parsing untrusted PKCS#12/CMS files, which is not a default runtime path for Bun. Restricting inputs to trusted sources and avoiding untrusted PKCS#12/CMS processing would eliminate most of the practical exposure.
